Understanding Workers Compensation - A Practical Approach to the Framework (Queensland)

This dedicated one day professional development workshop for Queensland will provide participants with education and understanding of the following:

- Referrals, Prior Approval, Exceptions

- Three Case Studies / Assessment Questions

- Medical Certificate and Report Writing

- Developing Relationships and

- Insights from Insurers

All with the aim of improving practitioners’ current knowledge and ability to work successfully within a complex framework.

Presented by Mr David Parkinson, B.HMS, M. Clin Ex Phys

David’s professional development has included over 15 years experience in Occupation Rehabilitation. David has worked with Transport NSW in roles including: Injury Management Advisor, Case Manager and Senior Case Manager. Since 2017, he has worked with Relaunch, a Health Solutions organisation as the National Recover at Work Coordinator. He is also concurrently working in private practice at DP Health Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology with a focus on soft tissue and mental health rehabilitation. 


David has completed a Bachelor of Science, Human Movement (SCU) and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology (ACU) and continues to advance his learning with courses and conferences to stay update with the latest evidence based practise.
 

Target Audience:

Graduate Accredited Exercise Physiologists and any Accredited Exercise Physiologist looking to work or already working within the Workers Compensation system.

Due to the demand for this workshop and that there will be no available face to face dates for the remainder of 2020. We are pleased to announce that this course is now approved by ESSA to be recorded and made available online as a podcast for delegates to watch in their own time.

Please note: delegates will still be eligible receive the full allocation of 7.5 CPD points and there will also be a follow up one-on-one phone call conference with the presenter (up to 30 minutes) to review your understanding of the content and answer any questions you may have.
